Our Mission in Vietnam

About us

Vietnam Cat Welfare is a UK-registered non-profit charity (#1165729) based in Hội An, Vietnam.

Currently, we have 105 rescue cats in our care and work tirelessly every day to improve the lives of animals through compassion, education, and action.

Our journey began in 2009, when our founder Emma, originally from the UK, rescued an abused and abandoned cat in Hội An, whom she named Jack. Soon, many more cats in need would follow. What started as one person's mission to save lives has grown into a full-time rescue and outreach effort - supported by incredible volunteers and a global community of cat lovers.

At the heart of what we do is a simple belief: every cat deserves safety, love, and a chance to live free from cruelty. We provide medical care, shelter, and rehoming for animals in need, while also working proactively to educate and raise awareness about animal welfare in Vietnam.

Our mission goes beyond rescue - we promote sterilization, vaccination, responsible pet care, and a deeper understanding of cat behavior. With your support, we're building a kinder, more compassionate future for cats across Vietnam.

We are entirely donation-based and rely on the generosity of supporters from around the world. To help sustain our work, we open the shelter three days a week as Jack's Cat Cafe. Located in beautiful Hội An, Jack's Cat Cafe offers guests the chance to relax with a drink, meet our friendly feline residents, and learn more about cat welfare in Vietnam.
