Fighting Cruelty Against Cats in Vietnam

Cats Matter Too is Vietnam's first dedicated feline welfare initiative, launched in partnership with FOUR PAWS, PAWS for Compassion, and Vietnam Cat Welfare. The program focuses on protecting cats from cruelty - especially the cat meat trade - and improving their long-term wellbeing through rescue, sterilization, education, and community engagement.

Every year, tens of thousands of cats are stolen from the streets and even family homes to be trafficked, sold, and killed for meat. Many more suffer due to neglect, misinformation, and the lack of affordable veterinary care. Cats Matter Too tackles these challenges at their root.

Our work spans from spay/neuter and vaccination clinics to humane education in schools and community support for responsible pet care. We train local caregivers, foster volunteers, and run awareness campaigns that aim to shift public perception - from fear and superstition to compassion and respect.

Together, we envision a future where cats are no longer forgotten - where they are valued, protected, and treated with kindness.
